Machine-Learning-Modelle und das Vertrauensverhältnis zwischen Ärzt*innen, Patient*innen und Maschine
We are pleased to announce that Raphael Brähler, M.A., from the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine Heidelberg, has been invited to present his research on the influence of Artificial Intelligence on the trust relationships between doctors and patients at the conference of the Akademie für Ethik der Medizin. His presentation will explore the ethical dimensions of Machine Learning in medical diagnostics and its impact on the trust relationships between doctors, patients, and AI systems.

Abstract of the Presentation
This talk examines the impact of Machine Learning (ML) models on trust relationships in healthcare. It explores how the increasing use of ML in medical diagnostics challenges traditional doctor-patient relationships as well as its theoretical conceptualisation in medical ethics. The presentation will offer a systematic overview of trust in medical contexts and propose a new trust model for ML-based diagnostic systems. It will be argued that trust in ML models extends beyond the technology itself to encompass the entire development structure, emphasizing the responsibility of creating systems that meet the expectations of both doctors and patients.
Participation
This talk is open to all conference attendees interested in the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
